  4. Nets are reduced in size; standard opening of the net is 5 feet wide by 10 inches high.
  5. Each team is guaranteed five games in the round robin format. There are no overtime periods in round robin play.

  7. Round robin games for the College/University, Men's Open and Women's Open will begin Friday, February 23. All other divisions will start on Saturday, February 24, 2006.
  8. Round robin tie breaking procedures to determine the higher positioned team in the standings will be as follows:
    1. The team with the best win/loss record in the games between the teams involved
    2. The team with the greatest point spread between the teams involved, (points/goals for, minus points/goals against)
    3. The team with the greatest positive point spread (i.e. points/goals for, minus points/goals against) in the games played between them and the team in the next highest position in the standings. (e.g. If still tied for second, would use games played against team in the fourth positions. Continue sequentially.)
    4. If a tie still persists, a coin toss determines the higher ranked team.

  9. No officials in the round robin format. Our tournament is based on fairplay and respect of others. To add to the excitement, celebrity officials will be part of the playoffs come Sunday.
  10. Committee will attempt to accommodate the best game times for the children during the warmest times of the day. Adult game times and opposition will be determined by a random draw.
    Rules
  1. All players must wear CAHA certified helmets. Skates, elbow pads and shin pads are mandatory.
  2. All teams must have available a light home jersey and a dark away jersey for all games.
  3. Players are only allowed to lift the puck, no more than 12” off the ice. Raising the puck at a greater distance will result in the puck being awarded to the opposing team. (Change of possession were the infraction occurred). For round robin games, where there are no officials, fairplay by all participants will prevail in determining this rule.
  4. No slap shots. Sticks blades must remain on the ice during play.
  5. There will not be any off-sides or icing calls.
  6. Goals must be scored from the attaching side of centre ice.
  7. No player can fall or lay on the ice in an effort to protect the goal area. (Goaltending)
  8. Aside from the opening face-off, teams will be required to give their opponents half ice after a goal, or change of possession will take place. After each goal, the team on defense must wait for the opposition to crossover half to resume play of the game.
  9. Pucks shot over the snow banks will result in the opposition gaining possession at the area of infraction. Defenders must give the in-bounding team 2 stick lengths to resume play. Extra pucks will be available at each rink to help with keeping the games on time. It would be greatly appreciated if the extra players on the sidelines can retrieve the out of bound pucks.
  10. All infractions such as tripping, hooking, slashing, and body contact and elbowing will result in a change of puck possession.
  11. All major infractions such as fighting, swearing, intent to injure, and abuse will automatically result in ejection of that player/players immediately from the tournament.
